Kent Street supports this statement by a revered coalition partner and NH faith leader*:

“NH, like many of you I was angry to see the public display of Nazi insignia and white supremacy in Concord this weekend. Hate has no home here, and we must name it for what it is.

I also need to say clearly this is not new. We have had multiple instances of known Nazis and white supremacists at the State House and in broad daylight over the last few years. We did not arrive here by accident. You may well know one of us who has been targeted by these folks in recent years. Black and Brown folks, LGBTQ+ folks, and others have been sounding this alarm. We need you in the fight.

It is critical we name antisemitism explicitly among the harms this display has caused. A swastika is by definition antisemitic. That alone would be enough. But in this case? The sign linking Trump to Epstein had nothing to do with harms against children. It is because Epstein was Jewish. That’s a specific and deeply dangerous kind of targeting. Let’s say it out loud. Our Jewish neighbors need us to do that.

I am thankful to the NH Council of Churches and many others who spoke into this moment this weekend, and are leading in this work. Also to NHPR for their good reporting. Support your local public radio.

No Hate in the Granite State.”
