In New Hampshire, any legislator can file as many bills as they choose. Every bill must receive a committee hearing and in most cases, every bill receives a vote on the floor. With over 1000 bills filed for the 2026 session, House and Senate committees are doubling up on hearing days and scheduling all day sessions. This week alone, there 339 bills are scheduled for hearings – some of these bills will also be voted on in executive session.
By working closely with our coalition partners, the Kent Street Coalition works hard to sift through all of these bills and prioritize those that are most likely to have the greatest impact, for good or bad, on individuals, our communities and the Granite State as a whole.
Based on this work, we put forth recommendations about supporting or opposing bills. However, we encourage everyone to make their own choice about each bill. We include links to bills to help you in this decision-making process.
