Dear Kent Street Friends,

The past week has left many of us saddened, sickened, and angry after the violent murder of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis at the hands of ICE. Those feelings are justified. Now it’s time to turn them into action.

This week, we show up.

We have an immediate opportunity to demand accountability and transparency from ICE and immigration enforcement here in New Hampshire—and to stand up for public education, labor rights, immigrants, and tenants.

WEDNESDAY IS CRITICAL: UNMASK ICE!

Wednesday, January 28 | 3:00–5:00 PM
1 Granite Place (Temporary Home of the NH House)

We need to fill the space at Granite Place in support of HB 1142.

HB 1142 would require law enforcement officers assisting ICE to:

  • Identify themselves by name, badge number, and agency
  • Clearly state they are operating under ICE authority
  • Remain unmasked while acting on ICE’s behalf

This bill increases transparency, accountability, and public safety for everyone in New Hampshire.

Show up. Hold signs. Sign in in person. Attend the hearing. Testify if you can.

Also, make sure to sign in to SUPPORT HB 1364, requiring quarterly reports from counties, municipalities, or any other political subdivisions of the state that enter into certain agreements with the federal government concerning assistance with federal immigration enforcement. This positive bill has a public hearing in the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee on Friday, January 30 at 11:30 AM in Room 159, Granite Place. Please sign in to support and share testimony, and contact the committee.
