The latest iteration of the Save Act passed the US House last week as the Save America Act. It is now headed for the Senate where a majority of GOP Senators

(50 + VP Vance) have indicated they support the bill. Currently the filibuster still holds, meaning that 60 votes would be needed to advance this dangerous piece of legislation. However, there are rumblings among some Republicans that they are ready to do away with the filibuster, at least when it comes to election related legislation.

The Save America Act would impact millions of Americans, particularly those who lack access to documentary proof of citizenship, such as a passport or birth certificate. It also would limit absentee and mail in voting and create serious criminal and civil penalties for election workers who inadvertently make mistakes fulfilling their duties.

Who’s impacted: *married women, *young voters, *elderly voters, *tribal voters, *voters of color, *low-income individuals, *rural voters, *active-duty members of the military
