| Dear Kent Streeters, This week’s Perspectives is simple: it’s a huge round of applause to all who made the third No Kings protests bigger and more powerful than ever. Organizers all across the country, from big cities to small towns, created opportunities for millions of us to show up in defiance of fascism and in support of democracy. Nationally, there were over 3,500 registered events with estimates that well over 8 million people participated. In New Hampshire alone, we counted 51 events not including the many bridge brigades happening over the course of the weekend. Numbers are still coming in from across the state, but NH 50501 organizers offered an initial, conservative estimate of 7,000 attendees at peak in Concord . Not only was the State House lawn packed, the City Plaza in front of the arch was full and people lined both sides of Main Street from Pleasant all the way to Centre. We here at Kent Street want to give a special and resounding shout out to our good friends at NH 50501. I won’t try naming everyone because I know I will miss some folks but they have built a team that rocks it every time. They know how to create events that are inspiring, fun, meaningful, entertaining, peaceful and safe. They do this all as volunteers and we know what that means in terms of long hours, dedication and commitment. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts.A shout out, too, to our KSC’s Visibility Team who coordinated Kent Street’s tabling, including the fabulous kids’ table complete with crown and poster making.Below are just a few snapshots from our little corner of the event. And finally, we thank all who attended. We hope that you came away feeling renewed, energized and inspired! With eyes on the prize, Louise |
