From the Visibilities Team:
What a beautiful Spring Day in New Hampshire! On days like this, it is possible to forget for a minute all that is going on in our State these days. And yet, while we need to take time to enjoy the flowers and warm Spring air, we also need to continue to stand up for our values. I urge you to take a look at Louise Spencer’s Perspectives this week in Happenings https://kentstreetcoalition.org/2026/05/04/happenings-email-may-3/. Louise clearly articulates the damage that the disrespectful, and often hateful, language has done to New Hampshire citizens and the legislative process. Disrespect has become all too common in the State House these days. Our visibilities this week are in response to disrespectful and hateful language and legislation.
On Wednesday May 6th, we will stand in silence (no signs) prior to the Executive Session discussing sanctions for Representative Travis Corcoran. The hearing begins at 1:15 in Room 234 at 1 Granite Place. We will hold our action from 12:45-1:15 outside the room. At 1:15, you are welcome to listen to the committee debate and support the process.
Our visibility on Thursday May 7th will focus on our opposition to several dangerous and discriminatory education bills that increase the pressure on schools by expanding voucher benefits and prohibiting the teaching of LGBTQ+ content in New Hampshire schools. In addition, there are several anti-trans bills that are truly ugly. Finally, we are opposing the reduction of the business enterprise tax, which further reduces revenue into the budget by giving corporations another tax break. We will meet outside the State House at 8:00AM and will go into the State House around 9:00 to stand outside of the Senate Chamber and Reps Hall until 10:00. As always, we will have signs, but please feel free to bring your own.
We look forward to seeing you this week! Your presence makes a difference!
As always, Showing Up and Standing Up Together,
The Kent Street Coalition Leadership Team

1 Granite Place, Room 235, Concord New Hampshire
The House Legislative Administration Committee will meet in executive session to decide what, if any, consequences Rep. Corcoran will face discipline for his antisemitic, anti-immigrant, and other hateful attacks against colleagues, constituents, and community organizations.
Even though no public testimony will be taken, a strong public presence sends a clear message: hate and intimidation have no place in our legislature. Please join us to demand real and meaningful accountability.
