Please note: Some of these actions duplicate those found elsewhere in Happenings but we have heard that some readers with limited time find this short list helpful.

ACLU –

Action #1: Tell your member of Congress: Enough is enough. Get these cameras off our streets

Flock cameras and other automatic license plate readers are springing up in communities across the country – recording our movements and allowing government agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to track us without a warrant and without our consent.

(make sure to remove KSC information and enter your own; we cannot edit the URL to default to a blank form – we’re sorry!)

CENTRAL NH INDIVISIBLE

Action #1: Automatic License Plate Readers in NH

This isn’t about safety – it’s a business model built on stripping away our privacy, one scan at a time. Within the last couple weeks, the first Flock Cameras were installed in NH: one in Concord, one in Manchester, two in Nashua.  There may be others. Congress has the power to shut this down. Tell them to get these cameras out of our communities now.

Action #2: Deflock Lowes

You can also sign a petition to express concerns to Lowe’s about their use of Flock Cameras in their parking lots (scroll to Step 2.) While you’re there, you can get more information and additional actions against Flock.

Action #3: Tell Your NH Reps to File Pro-Democracy Bills

Use Open Democracy Action’s link to sign and send it to Urge NH Reps to File Pro-Democracy Bills Ahead of Upcoming September Deadline! A sample letter is provided to get you started

Action #4: End Super PACs once and for all

Use Free Speech For People’s sign and send if you agree that Congress must end super PACs once and for all.

MomsRising

Action #1

Join us for a Community ZOOM: Come connect, recharge, and leave with new ideas, new energy, and meaningful ways to take action alongside families across the country.

Across the country, families are being forced into impossible choices. It’s because our leaders are prioritizing ballrooms over emergency rooms. And we’ve had enough.

Action #2

Eight Million People Just Lost Healthcare

Add your name to lower premium costs and ensure that quality health care is within reach for families!

Action #3

Support immigrants in your community by sending a quick Letter to the Editor calling on elected leaders to protect TPS recipients, keep families together, and protect the caregivers and healthcare workers our communities depend on.

The Trump administration’s decision to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti and other countries is putting thousands of caregivers and healthcare workers at risk of losing their ability to work and remain with their families.

Action #4: Tell Congress to Protect Head Start

Urge Congress to safeguard Head Start and oppose harmful deregulation and funding cuts proposed by RFK Jr.!

Head Start has been the most important social and educational program for children, families, and communities that the United States has ever undertaken. Since its inception over 60 years ago, it has provided opportunity through childcare to over 40 million children and their families.

Action #1:  End the use of the Monroe Doctrine; End Emperialism

To this day, the U.S. holds Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands seized during the Spanish-American War as colonial territories justified by the Monroe Doctrine.

We would do better to forsake the Monroe Doctrine in favor of a new policy that explicitly works towards cooperation with our fellow American nations. A bill currently moving through Congress in support of this ideal is H.Res.1025, which would push the US State Department to adopt a Good Neighbours Policy. Tell Representatives Goodlander and Pappas to cosponsor H.Res.1025 to put an end to US imperialism!

Your message could be…

  • House
    • “Hello, my name is ______, and I’m calling from _______, NH. I urge Representative ______ to cosponsor H.Res.1025. The Monroe Doctrine has repeatedly led to the abuse of our fellow American nations and we would do better to pursue a policy of good neighbours.
  • Senate:
    • “Hello, my name is ______, and I’m calling from _______, NH. I urge Senator ______ to support legislation like H.Res.1025 in the House. The Monroe Doctrine has repeatedly led to the abuse of our fellow American nations and we would do better to pursue a policy of good neighbours.

Action #2: Oppose any bill subsidizing Israel’s military

Two weeks ago, in negotiations over Israel’s war on Gaza, Hamas agreed to disarm under the observation of citizen groups and international observers. Despite this long demanded concession being granted, Israel has once again refused the proposed deal. This deal has even been backed by the US government, which is finally taking basic steps to pressure Israel, such as tariffs which were levied in July over Israel’s lack of protections against forced labor.

Your message could be…

  • House
    • “Hello, my name is ______, and I’m calling from _______, NH. I urge you to oppose any bill subsidizing Israel’s military. Their refusal to negotiate for peace in Gaza even after Hamas agreed to disarm shows they are not acting in good faith and have little regard for human rights.
  • Senate:
    • “Hello, my name is ______, and I’m calling from _______, NH. I urge you to oppose H.R.8800 and any other bill subsidizing Israel’s military. Their refusal to negotiate for peace in Gaza even after Hamas agreed to disarm shows they are not acting in good faith and have little regard for human rights.

Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund

PPNHAF Pledge to Support Access to Abortion in 2026

For the past two years, we’ve watched anti-abortion politicians try to pass bill after bill attacking access in New Hampshire. We fought back and defeated all of them- thanks to your advocacy- but Granite Staters deserve leaders who will protect and expand reproductive rights.

We know that a pledge alone won’t flip the State House, so we’re going to follow up. If you sign, we’ll mail you a postcard in October with information about candidates running in your district who are committed to protecting our health and rights. That way, when it’s time to fill out your ballot, you’ll know exactly who those candidates are.
