| Dear Kent Streeters, The Kent Street Conveners know that you all look forward to Louise’s weekly Perspectives, but we are interrupting our usual Happenings format to share some exciting news! Louise Spencer Wins Maggie Goodlander Community Leader Award Big Congratulations to Co-Founder of Kent Street Coalition, Louise Spencer! Louise was awarded the Maggie Goodlander Community Leader Award at the New Hampshire Democratic Party Convention on Saturday, May 16. This award is presented each year to a “Democrat who is a pillar of their community, one who builds strong coalitions, listens to diverse voices, and takes on what must be done.” This describes Louise to a T, and we can’t think of a more deserving person! As Congresswoman Goodlander presented the award to Louise, she described the Louise we all know as “ a force of nature”, a consistent and persistent progressive presence in New Hampshire, and builder of coalitions for good. Louise was surprised and honored by the award! In her comments on stage, Louise shared the award with the over 6,000 Kent Streeters and everyone who works to make New Hampshire a better, more inclusive state. Finally, she exhorted everyone to learn about new voting rules, to check on their registrations and help those in their sphere to check their registrations and get registered to vote.
