The stakes are too high. We can’t afford to stay on the sidelines! Kent Street Coalition urges all of our volunteers, subscribers, and supporters to take action this election season.

A Message From Louise…

As Trump continues his assault on democracy, trying to undermine our elections before they’ve even happened, we can’t know exactly what heTrump and his allies will try to do next.

But we do know one thing:

We are stronger than whatever they will try.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves! From our friends at MascomaForward.com:

Vote NO on Question 2.

*And don’t just skip voting on it, as that will in essence be a YES vote!*

The right way to reduce our property taxes is to increase state funding for our schools.

Taking money away from our public schools has been a signature initiative in the years of Republican/Free State rule in New Hampshire, from the unregulated Education Freedom Account voucher program to the current ballot question that would impose school budget caps on every community.

New Hampshire ranks last in the nation in state support for education, and that means local communities are picking up the tab, or watching their schools and student achievement decline. These resources and fact sheets will help you understand and inform others about the crisis in school funding created by the New Hampshire GOP:

Statement from the Kent Street Coalition Health Care Working Group:

As health care professionals and as consumers of health care, our experience shows us that health care in New Hampshire is in crisis. Soaring costs for health insurance, inflated prices for hospital care and higher out-of-pocket charges for primary and specialist care stress every NH resident. Many of our current state government’s health policies are misguided and fiscally irresponsible and put the health of Granite Staters in jeopardy. This fact sheet explains many of our concerns.

Kent Street Coalition continues to support our immigrant neighbors with visibilities and actions. Find resources for understanding the scope and impact of arrests across the Granite State below to use when you engage voters about protecting immigrant and all human rights at the ballot box:

Overall arrests and detentions have increased significantly.

  • The proportion of individuals arrested and detained who have a criminal record has dropped sharply.
  • Custodial arrests (jail/prison) are down, while non-custodial community arrests and 287(g) arrests have risen substantially.
  • Senator Shaheen is co-sponsoring HR 10297

Share a powerful letter to the editor from Bill Gillet: America made a promise to legal refugees it should keep (Union Leader, September 11, 2026)

The level of state funding for public education has been litigated for more than three decades, yet still NH property taxes provide seven out of ten dollars for school funding.  In recent years under GOP leadership, revenue streams–like taxes on the wealthy–have been eliminated, downshifting yet more costs to local property tax payers to pick up the slack.  Here are some resources to help you understand and talk about these issues to friends, family, and your community.

Affordability is the watchword of this election–we all are feeling the pinch, and we know it stems directly from the policies enacted by New Hampshire’s GOP/Free State government, to say nothing of Trump’s failed tariffs and war of choice in Iran. That’s why these midterm elections are so important–we can’t afford to not change course. Here are some resources to help you talk about affordability and its impacts on all of us:
