Read In!
Thursday, June 11
11am – 1pm
State House

Join our coalition partners as we stand up for reading ALL books. Bring your favorite banned book!
Last week marked the end of the Legislative Session. Over the course of the session, we held visibilities supporting public education, vaccines for children, LGBTIQQ rights, voter rights, immigrant rights, reproductive rights (to name a few), and always in opposition to the Free State Agenda that continues to undermine and threaten our Democratic values and New Hampshire citizens. We are still actively working to ensure that Governor Ayotte vetoes several dangerous bills. This week, we are joining several of our coalition members in encouraging Governor Ayotte to veto HB434, a censorship bill that would allow the banning of books, art, films, videos, dances, live performances, and guest speakers in New Hampshire public schools. Join us Thursday June 11th from 11AM-12Noon at the State House in a READ-IN. Bring your favorite banned book! We will also be loaning books for the event. At noon, you are invited by ACLU-NH to their offices (18 Low St., Unit 12) for lunch to say thanks for everyone’s efforts this year and to share a meal in community.

We are also encouraging you to call or write to Governor Ayotte to veto several bad bills including HB1300, the tax cap bill, and SB552 and HB1442, which are discriminatory bathroom bills, and HB232, which restricts abortion access.
