ACTION ALERTS! Week of November 8, 2026
Please note: Some of these actions duplicate those found elsewhere in Happenings but we have heard that some readers with limited time find this short list helpful.
New Hampshire Peace Action
Action 1: Tell elected officials: Say NO to war funding and demand an end to war with Iran. Send a message today!
Last Week’s Action:
Remove the U.S.-Israel Military Merger
The House and Senate Armed Services Committee are in negotiations about the 2027 N.D.A.A. and could remove the U.S.-Israel Military Merger (Section 219 in the House and Section 1217 in the Senate). Sen. Shaheen and Rep. Goodlander are on these committees – call them and tell them you do not support integrating Israel into the U.S. military! Sen Hassan and Rep Pappas can also speak out on this issue.
- PRIORITY:
- Sen. Jeanne Shaheen: (202) 224-2841 / (603) 647-7500
- Rep. Maggie Goodlander (NH-02): (202) 225-5206 / (603) 226-1002
- Sen. Maggie Hassan: (202) 224-3324 / (603) 622-2204
- Rep. Chris Pappas (NH-01): (202) 225-5456 / (603) 935-6710
EMERGENCY ALERT: Demand NH Reps Act to Stop Violence in the West Bank
We cannot let the mass displacement seen in Gaza happen again in the West Bank. NH’s elected representatives have stated that they support a two state solution. If they really mean that, they must condemn this outrageous violence and recognize Palestinians rights to live freely and safely on their own land.
TAKE ACTION AND CALL NOW!
- Sen. Jeanne Shaheen: (202) 224-2841 / (603) 647-7500
- Sen. Maggie Hassan: (202) 224-3324 / (603) 622-2204
- Rep. Chris Pappas (NH-01): (202) 225-5456 / (603) 935-6710
- Rep. Maggie Goodlander (NH-02): (202) 225-5206 / (603) 226-1002
We are specifically calling on Reps. Pappas and Goodlander to take action by supporting two critical pieces of legislation, both of which they have not yet co-sponsored:
- Stop the Settlements Act (H.R. 10642): Establishes sanctions related to Israeli settlements and outposts in the West Bank and Gaza
- Block the Bombs Act (H.R. 3565): Would restrict U.S. weapons transfers to Israel
Your message could be…
- “Hi, my name is _____, and I’m calling from _____, NH. I’m calling to demand immediate action to address the escalating violence and forced displacement of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The United States must stop enabling Israel’s abuses and hold the Israeli gov. accountable. I urge [Rep/Senator] to publicly condemn Israeli military and settler violence against Palestinians and work to end U.S. complicity.
*Also encourage Reps. Pappas/Goodlander to support H.R. 10642 and H.R. 3565.

Last Week’s Action:
Create your personalized, shareable digital postcard right now to help #MomTheVote!
Here’s the truth: Trump and MAGA politicians are so shocking that many people have tuned out political news, but your friends, family, and neighbors listen to YOU. Research shows that a personal message from someone we trust is the single most effective way to turn an occasional voter into a voter who shows up.
ACLU
Last Week’s Action:
End mandatory detention for people in ICE custody
Our government is subjecting immigrants, including children, to a detention system defined by abuse and a complete disregard for human dignity. Immigrants are part of our families, neighborhoods, workplaces, and places of worship.
No one should be detained indefinitely and denied basic due process. Congress has a responsibility to conduct oversight and hold ICE accountable.

Action #1:
Last Week’s Action:
Tell your governor to end felony disenfranchisement
An estimated 4 million people are denied their right to vote because they have felony convictions, and they are disproportionately Black and Brown. That has to change.
Central NH Indivisible
Last Week’s Action:
SIGN NOW: Tell Meta to protect free speech
On Saturday, October 17th, Meta pulled down the No Kings Coalition’s Instagram account.
While millions across the country rallied for early voting, Meta froze and removed the coalition’s main Instagram account for roughly 90 minutes without any explanation or response and administrators were still without access for four hours. The result: Millions who showed up for their early voting rally lost their microphone.
Additional information Kent Street Coalition, as reported by Yahoo News and mainstream media outlets:
On Tuesday, October 27th, Meta AGAIN pulled down another Instagram account, that of Angie Nixon’s (D-FL) Spanish-language Instagram page was suspended during a get-out-the-vote rally in Kissimmee, raising fresh questions about the reliability of social media platforms for political outreach just days before Election Day.
Meta silenced a nationwide protest, and a campaigning Democrat, and regardless of the reason, it can’t happen again.
