Important Notice!
Town Clerk Offices will be OPEN on Labor Day, Monday, September 7th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm (at a minimum as NH law requires) to receive absentee ballots and to allow for absentee voting. Some cities and towns will have extended hours. Please check your municipality’s website for details.
If you are not registered to vote, you can still register and cast your ballot on Election Day!
Simply go to your regular polling place on Tuesday to register and vote. All voters must bring documentary proof of identity and domicile. Those who have not been previously registered to vote in New Hampshire also need to bring proof of age and citizenship. If you do not have the documentary proof of citizenship required to register, you can fill out a form (affidavit) under oath.
To cast your ballot, you will need a valid government-issued photo ID with you, such as:
- Driver’s license issued by any state or federal government
- Non-driver ID card issued by NH Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or the motor vehicle agency of another state
- Photo ID card for “voting identification only” issued by NH DMV
- United States Armed Services Identification Card
- United States passport or pass card
Please note:
If you do not have an acceptable ID with you, you will not be able to vote. Student ID’s are no longer accepted proof of ID for voting purposes.
If you run into problems at the polls, have voting questions, or feel that your rights have been violated at the polls, call the Attorney General’s hotline at 866-868-3703 or the ACLU of New Hampshire at 603-333-2201.
Your voice is your vote, so make sure you know your rights, make a voting plan, and head to the polls next Tuesday, September 8, for the New Hampshire Primary.
