Open Democracy Action has put together a handy guide to writing a Letter to the Editor of your local paper encouraging your neighbors to double-check their voter registration status.

From Open Democracy Action:

Starting this year, New Hampshire’s comprehensive voter checklistverification process—sometimes referred to as a voter roll purge—will happen *every year instead of once every 10 years.*

This year, local election officials held verification sessions between April 1 and August 1 to identify voters who had not voted in any election within the past five years and had not registered since the 2024 general election. Those voters were required to re-register to remain on the checklist.

Even if you vote regularly, it’s still a good idea to double-check yourstatus! Write a short letter to the
editor reminding your neighbors to check their voter registration status before the next election.* It takes just a minute, and catching an issue ahead of time can make Election Day that much smoother.
