We want to thank you all for showing up and standing up! Your efforts have made a difference and are noticed! You showed up against Campus Carry and many of you stayed to testify or support those testifying. The college students who rallied with us and testified were so impressive and courageous. While we do not know the outcome of that vote yet, the young people gave us all hope for the future. Similarly, you all showed up in opposition to Open Enrollment, and helped get that bill tabled. It’s not dead yet, but our efforts helped put it on life support. Your presence is noticed by legislators and is appreciated by those testifying. Thank you … but we are not done yet.
As always, we still have work to do and hope you can join us for this week’s visibility events.
Tuesday April 28th, we will be assisting with NH Public Education Day! While there are activities and programming occurring at the Doubletree Hotel from 9:00-3:15, we will be focusing our visibility between 11:30-1:30 on the State House Lawn. We will have a Kent Street Table at this event holding signs in support of public education, and will help set up and take down lunch tables. We could really use some extra Kent Street bodies to show up for public education.
On Thursday April 30th, we are joining with ACLU-NH and 603 Equality to show we know how to fly our flags! This rally will show our support for flags in schools. Flags in schools welcome students. The event will take place outside the State House Arch from 3-4:30PM. We will have signs and flags, but feel free to bring your own!
May Day! May Day! Urgent Action Needed! On Friday, May 1st from 11-1:00PM, we will be rallying at the State House with the intent to disrupt the economy. The theme is Workers Overs Billionaires! No Work! No School! No Shopping! Kent Street will have a table and we will hold signs encouraging an economy that works for all of us!
KSC will be tabling in Concord! Join us there! Check out your local May Day Rally gatherings here.
